the author of my immortal is saying its connected to a bad time in her life and she was kinda hunted down against her will and like… shes being really nice and up front about it, probably more than people deserve, but i wish people chilled out and let it be a mystery instead of tracking her down.
shes moved on, shes just doing her own thing like everyone else. also shes a writer and like she shouldnt have to have that attached to everything she does from now on lmao…
like shes a serious author and its extremely fucked up if people are gonna talk about her books like “hey guys this was written… by the author of my immortal!!!” like. that fic is enough of a phenomenon that i dont think anything anyone says is gonna stop that kinda shit from happening but just. please let her be. she’s a human being and she’s moved on with her life.
ok i think some of you all are missing the point severely, even if you arent saying mean things or even have NICE things to say to her, still just…let her be
like… obv i cant speak for her and ofc i dont know her exact feelings on the matter just from reading her posts but what she has made clear was 1) she did not want to be known, at least not yet. she was hunted down against her will and 2) she has mentioned something about her agreement with her publishers involved keeping this part of her identity private for now, so Hopefully you assholes havent jeopardized her current publication process with this
so like even if you have nice things to say just like… dont spam her, dont boost the posts or flash around her account everywhere.like i know basic human decency and understanding isnt one of this site’s features but like please just try to imagine what this must be like to go thru
